Welcome!

Welcome to the Davis Digital Storytelling Challenge!

Digital stories are like miniature movies created by people. Anyone of any age can learn to write a script, record his or her voice, and combine it with pictures, video, and music to tell a story. Instead of watching stories on TV, people can share their own stories.

The Davis Digital Storytelling Challenge was created to provide students with an opportunity to learn and demonstrate 21st century skills, and to teach them about how storytelling is a part of being human, no matter what century you live in.

This workshop guides students (K–12) through the process of creating a digital story that tells a personal story about an object, a person, an event, or a place that profoundly impacted them or someone they know. A lesson and studio accompanies this workshop so students learn about the history and context of digital storytelling. To showcase extraordinary student work, Davis has teamed up with Digication.com to provide each student with an e-Portfolio to show his or her digital story, the process of creating it, and an assessment of their work.
